Starlight travel time in the Universe

This is a video segment, with added text subtitling, taken from the documentary film “The Heavens Declare” Part 2 where in I describe the new physics of how light from the most distant galaxies could have reached Earth in just 24 hours during the Creation by God 6000 years ago. My model is based on Carmeli’s cosmology and where the Universe was rapidly stretched out by the Creator on Day 4 of Creation week when He made the stars and galaxies. This provides a solution to the creationist light-travel-time problem.

THD1THD2The straight forward reading of the Genesis account in the Bible can be taken as real history. There is no need to twist scripture to try to fit the big bang account into it.  Just because the Universe is tens of billions of light-years in extent does not mean that the narrative in Genesis is wrong. God created this wonderful universe and did it just as he said. You can believe it. I do.

In the Heavens Declare documentary series you travel through the universe and enjoy breathtaking scenery and stand in awe at our magnificent Creator.

  1. There is another way to fix the problem. Your interpretation of Genesis is based on presentism which is clearly false. Eternalism (the blockworld from relativity or superdeterminism from quantum mechanics) is the way to interpret Genesis 1. So when God creates the heavens and the Earth he created across all of space AND TIME, everything and everybody from the beginning of time (probably the Big Bang) out as far as time goes. Each “day” in Genesis 1 is then a stage in a construction project that extends across all of time. Now there is no telling how old the universe is so you don’t have to worry about that any more. Your assumption of presentism is something that comes from Godless heathen scientists instead of eternalism that you get from God in the Bible.

    • What you describe is a complete denial of God’s authority namely the straightforward truths of His Words. I am not ashamed of His Words, I believe the Genesis account as real history. That is my starting point. You clearly have a different philosophical position evidenced by your absolute statement.

      • Absolutely not true! I believe His Word! I believe it is real history! What’s going on is that when you read Genesis 1 you bring with you your hidden assumption of presentism whereas I approach it from the standpoint of eternalism, something that you find in the Bible AND IN MODERN PHYSICS!

  2. OK, you have stated you philosophical position, eternalism (all points of time are equal), which I would argue is not the perspective of the Bible. You take that from modern science (relativity). I would argue the Author of the Bible writes in an Earth-centric a human-centric view and not from your eternalism perspective. Genesis 1 is thus written from that perspective and Genesis is written as a simple narrative history. Each day of Genesis 1 are 24-hour days as any straightforward reading of the Hebrew text would testify.
